Our goal with this project is to convey the progression and development of Chimney Rock State Park. We hope to celebrate the park’s achievements, hardships of development, explore the local history, and examine the significance of the park to Western North Carolina.

While this is a project for a history course, not all of us are even history majors. Half of this project comes from the Computer Science Department at UNCA, where groups from a Games Programming class are producing interactives for each Digital History team.

Found by the head of UNC Asheville Special Collections Gene Hyde, he thinks this Opossum using a phone booth at Chimney Rock should be the pièce de résistance of our project.
